WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES

A week ago there were 142 people at our home
A week ago there were huge amounts of food in our garage
A week ago there were egg hunts, swimming, basketball, handball and a piƱata
A week ago there was a group that went on a snake hunt and came home with two rattlers
A week ago there were chairs all over the back yard and cars up and down the street
A week ago there was lots of food, laughter, conversation, and fellowship
A week ago there were people meeting for the first time and others getting reacquainted
A week ago the sun was shining and the sky was blue and the shade covers were up!
A week ago our family and friends gathered at our home and we were blessed
A week ago we welcomed babies and adults who were here for the first time
A week ago our loved ones came and brought their love, presence, and even some presents

A week later it is just the two of us here at home and it is so quiet
A week later the only food is in the kitchen and I have to fix it
A week later all the Easter decorations are put away except the See’s candy
A week later the back yard is empty and deserted, but the measuring wall is full
A week later we are inside the house with the fireplace going because it is rainy and cold
A week later there are no cars parked on the road, and not a chair on the grass
A week later we are still talking about the fun times we had and reminiscing
A week later we have begun to plan on what the party will be like in 51 weeks from now
A week later we are still thanking the Lord for all of you coming to visit us
A week later we are remembering those of you who could not be with us, how much we missed you and pray you can join us next year

A week later we still remember you all in our prayers and give thanks to our Lord that He loves us so much to bless us with all of you

A week later we are grateful and for the wonderful memories that we have to carry us through until we get together again

A week later we pray these words for you from Philemon: 4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.

Blessings to you,
The Provosts
