California Here We Come...

YAHOO.... we're looking forward to seeing you all in September!!! The kids and I will be there from 15 September - 10 October - certainly we'll catch a few birthdays, a wedding (do you have space for a few more on your invite list?), a camping trip... and just the fun daily life stuff on the Grandparents porch and cruising through OC!!! We're so looking forward to it! Tony will be in DC for some of it, but plans to come over for a week or so. We'd like to go to Legoland during the time Tony's there, so we'll get the word out if anyone wants to come along! Can't believe it's already been 2 years since we've seen you guys!!! I may be turning 40 this week, but I've got plenty of energy for cards and games, so bring it on!!!! See you soon!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!

So are we going to fit in that backspace in the big family photo or what!!?!? There's a nice big gap in the family line up so hopefully this slides right in...

Grandpa, we heard it was an amazing day with so many people gathered together to show you just how loved you are! We so wish we could've been there, but we celebrated you from New Zealand! Ha - notice we've got long sleeves underneath - it's the start of winter here, folks (thankfully it was a non-rainy day). Oh, and I heard you even had a bit of an eclipse to celebrate too... we'll be getting that one in November so I guess that will be a good reason to celebrate your birthday party again!!!
Glad you all were able to be there - what a special occasion! We love you all...

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A WEEK MAKES

A week ago there were 142 people at our home
A week ago there were huge amounts of food in our garage
A week ago there were egg hunts, swimming, basketball, handball and a piƱata
A week ago there was a group that went on a snake hunt and came home with two rattlers
A week ago there were chairs all over the back yard and cars up and down the street
A week ago there was lots of food, laughter, conversation, and fellowship
A week ago there were people meeting for the first time and others getting reacquainted
A week ago the sun was shining and the sky was blue and the shade covers were up!
A week ago our family and friends gathered at our home and we were blessed
A week ago we welcomed babies and adults who were here for the first time
A week ago our loved ones came and brought their love, presence, and even some presents

A week later it is just the two of us here at home and it is so quiet
A week later the only food is in the kitchen and I have to fix it
A week later all the Easter decorations are put away except the See’s candy
A week later the back yard is empty and deserted, but the measuring wall is full
A week later we are inside the house with the fireplace going because it is rainy and cold
A week later there are no cars parked on the road, and not a chair on the grass
A week later we are still talking about the fun times we had and reminiscing
A week later we have begun to plan on what the party will be like in 51 weeks from now
A week later we are still thanking the Lord for all of you coming to visit us
A week later we are remembering those of you who could not be with us, how much we missed you and pray you can join us next year

A week later we still remember you all in our prayers and give thanks to our Lord that He loves us so much to bless us with all of you

A week later we are grateful and for the wonderful memories that we have to carry us through until we get together again

A week later we pray these words for you from Philemon: 4 I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, 5 because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. 6 I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. 7 Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.

Blessings to you,
The Provosts

Night of Champions

Friday night was the annual FCA OC Night of Champions. It was a wonderful night of outreach for the Middle School and High School Students of Orange County!

There was a lot of the Boyer Family present as FCA staff & leadership, parents, students, and supporters! Even Aunt Francine was there on her birthday. It was a great time!

Adam on stage, closing in prayer for the night.

Happy 5th Birthday, Hunter!!!

Hunter's big 5th birthday party was held on Saturday, 28 January... and it was a great day for our newly five year old and his buddies. Of course Hunter had requested certain friends to come along, so I sent out the initial text (no cute invitations from this household this year). Well, those friends have siblings and parents... and then I'd run into others and think "oh, we can certainly just invite another friend" (WHO DOES THAT SOUND LIKE?)... and in typical Jen fashion, the guest list had sorta expanded. So you can imagine the knot in my tummy when I woke up on Friday morning and the temperature had dropped by what seemed like 5 degrees and the rain was practically horizontal. "Hunter," I stated, "you'd better start praying that God brings good weather for your birthday party tomorrow." It was my only hope - there was absolutely no way we'd be able to squeeze the now 30+ people into my house... So pray he/we did.

And on Saturday morning - as you'd expect - clear skies, bright sun, and summer temperatures! PRAISE GOD!!! We had much to be thankful for! And... much work to do before the guests arrived at 11am.

After creating his super fun train cake last year (as per his request) I figured I was up for anything he'd throw my way (funny how one successful cake can inspire such confidence). So when he said he wanted a monster truck cake I had no doubt I could deliver. But it was Tony's contribution and steady hands that really turned this into a work of edible art!! And you can tell by Hunter's expression - it was good!!!

If you want to read more about his birthday OR our time with my parents, check out our blog: www.familyclarkchronicle.blogspot.com
Wish we could celebrate your birthdays too!!!
Oh and now that he's five - he's eligible to start school and I'm homeschooling him this year... so the adventures continue!!!
