3 Boyer's and a Baby Bump

Jason and Amanda + baby came to visit Auntie Steph.

We enjoyed our Saturday morning by eating chocolate croissants
and a walk near Boyer Ave.

Amanda 18 weeks pregnant and feeling good.
Boyer Ave was very inspirational for baby names.
However, we did not reach a conclusion.
Jason and Amanda going for the candid shot.
Meanwhile, Steph was texting Jeff.

With a few sun breaks, many naps, and a lot of quality time we welcomed in October with a crispy weekend. Hope you all get a Saturday walk in this month and breath in some cool air. And let's not forget...
enjoy some Husky/USC football :)

I am planning on getting together with some friends and family to just play and celebrate my 24th birthday this sunday August 14th. At 2pm we will be meeting together at Cordata Park (its in Matt and Toris neighborhood) to play some foresquare, botchie ball, frisbee, eat some treats and you can learn to slackline too!
So come play! I would love to see you!

Happy Anniversary... Happy 4th of July!!!

Sometimes you just have to combine your celebrations, eh? Since Tony was in Australia on our anniversary we had to postpone our date. What better way to celebrate than for him to take a day off work and spend the 4th of July enjoying a bit of recreational companionship out in the beauty of the greater Wellington region?!? We did what we would've done if we were in California on the 4th - we took a bike ride (though there were no red, white or blue tassles on our bikes, no flags flown, nor streamers through our tires) along a beautiful waterway and ended up at Ruby's Cafe for a coffee and bap instead of Ruby's Diner for a milkshake and burger. Regardless, we appreciated our few hours of independence (Hunter was at Kindy and Helena was with a friend) as we reflected on the interdependence we've developed over these nine wonderful years of marriage so far...

Miss you guys... hope you had a great 4th there!!!

Easter at Hemet

Easter Party 2011

The special time of year has come and gone
Always passes way too fast
It seems we plan and prepare and wait so long
Then before we know it over and part of the past

So some of the kids grew 4 inches according to the chart
Katelyn, Erika, Natalie, and Nathan
Trevor, Ryan, and Maddie with 3 as their mark
Maybe Jacob would have won if he was measured in 2010?

Tiffany wins “Best PiƱata Ever” prize
That sweet little chicken with her feathers a blowing
Kept it together for even the older kids to give it a try
Took one of Uncle Ralph’s clubs to break her open

The food was great, the company sweet
Thanks for all who helped to make it complete
You brought the food, helped serve it up
Even left us stuff for our own hunt!

No snake, no handball
Not much swimming
Egg hunts, hiking, eating, some sleeping and preaching
Lots of laughter and “Oh Yeah” POPCORN!

“Did you get measured?” We keep yelling
The reason why is that is the only way for telling
When were you here and when did you miss? Check the wall and you will see
So this year the biggest crowd ever was one hundred thirty three!

Thank you to Amanda and Jason
Our day was a lot more fun
We got to visit and enjoy and even sit down
Even had a chance to keep up on the bark in the pond!

What a joy to have an old Maywood friend from our childhood day
Marcella had prayed for this opportunity for years
It was our family who showed her the love of Jesus and how to pray
She wanted to thank Mom and Dad for loving her, she said through her tears

What a blessing we have been given, what a legacy that we can carry on
Sharing the love of Jesus that we have seen and experienced
Through our parents, grand parents, great grand parents, aunts, uncles, in laws and so on!
Happy Easter to all from our family to yours!

Happy Easter to all our family and friends
From the Provosts

Phone-A-Friend Family Survey

Amanda here. Just a quick story for everyone and an update for those of you that we 'phoned-a-friend' to last night and this morning.

Jason and I are visiting Stephanie in Seattle this weekend and we all got into a fun dispute last night. I, the 'newbie' (as they dubbed me), made a claim that one of our family members uses the expression "oh my lands". Jason and Stephanie said that in their collective 58 years of experience with the family, they had never heard this expression. Thus the dispute began.

I felt ganged up against by the sister-brother duo so I felt that I needed some backup. I proceeded to phone-a-friend to Diane. The question was, "Which family member says, 'Oh my lands!' ?"

She gave me the answer I was looking for. GRANDMA. Of course it's Grandma. Whether it's in response to someone's move in a card game, or an outlandish statement - she says it! And because she influences others - there are aunts, uncles and cousins who say it as well.

Amanda: 2
Stephanie&Jason: 2

So of course they said that I had to get one more vote to win - and then it all went down hill from there. Aunt Francine didn't give me the answer I was looking for so we all had to keep calling around until I got the amount of points I was looking for (I'm not competitive at all). Here are the answers we got:

Aunt Francine: Didn't know what to say. No one?
Tamara: Nicole
Andrew: GRANDMA
Kim (another newbie may I add): GRANDMA
Grandma: "I THINK IT'S ME!"
Grandpa: Francine, then once we told him about it, he said that "Grandma does not say that"
Aunt Joanne: Denise
Uncle Ronnie: Grandpa
Tori A: Nicole, at Hemit weekend.
Lauren: GRANDMA
Jessica: GRANDMA
Adam: GRANDMA
Uncle Mark: GRANDMA, "It starts with Grandma."
Aunt Janna: Diane?
Nicole: GRANDMA
Carlie: "Definitely GRANDMA Boyer"
Tori B: GRANDMA
Ashley: Aunt Joanne
Janel: "Oh gosh, I think it's me"
David: GRANDMA and Uncle Ronnie
Uncle John: "That's my mom, my mom says that" GRANDMA
April: Amanda (ha!)
Amber: GRANDMA
Jason S: GRANDMA
Stephen: GRANDMA

So in the end,
Amanda: 17
Stephanie&Jason: 12

Noteworthy addition: while we were asking different people the question, we heard Uncle Ronnie's famous line, "Oh my golly" (which Uncle Ronnie gave credit to Grandpa for). Stephanie said that it was said ten times during her conversation with Nicole.

All I know is when Grandma says, "Oh my lands" next time at the card table, hopefully there will be an eruption of laughter. Let's extend Janel's challenge to use 'oh my lands' sometime today. Love you all!

*Sorry if we didn't reach you! Feel free to leave your answer in the comments section!

New Zealand Update

Thanks for your prayers! Tony was sent to Christchurch on Wednesday, Feb 23 - just 29 hours after the initial earthquake struck! The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has had him working as a translator/interpreter for Chinese speaking rescue teams, so he's been right there in the midst of the destruction. He's finally going to get to see his dad Saturday morning for a half hour before getting back into it. Please continue to pray for his safety and the situation as a whole!

On the good side, many churches and Christian organizations are stepping up and reaching out to their fearful, hurting neighbors. Our church collected donated goods to fill up a couple trucks that drove down this morning. I was able to put up a notice at Hunter's pre-school on Thursday and by the afternoon picked up a whole bunch of goods donated by the school community! It was awesome how everyone just pitched in!!! The goods will be distributed by our church based in Christchurch which is awesome! Because our congregation there is part of the community, they are able to give immediate assistance which will be a relief to many people who are just in need now and don't have time to wait for 'official' assistance. You can follow some of this on: www.arisechurch.org.nz

And oddly enough, this photo was used in an email from an aid organization in NZ - click on this link to see Tony in action.

We love you guys and we know that you are praying for our nation! Thank you.
